Hardback edition

The hardback version of I Found My Horn was published in January 2008 by Weidenfeld and Nicolson, and promptly abridged for BBC Radio 4’s “Book of the Week”. The reader was Nicholas Boulton. I’m unable for copyright reasons to post those readings here, but the Daily Telegraph also helped to bring the book to potential readers’ attention by publishing an extract. It’s a truncated version of an incident in the book when, as a teenage student of the horn, I’d had enough. But I was persuaded to take part in my very smart public school’s competition for instrumental soloists. Big mistake.

Here's the extract.
